Concluding our learning on Carbon Credits, we have retired our regenerative agriculture credits from Bank Farm. Why the rigmarole? Well carbon markets are an emerging industry and people invest for many reasons, including pure speculative investment to make money.
To take them off the market, effectively cashing them in for your purpose such as offsetting your unavoidable emissions, you have to retire them. Luke Baldwin of our partners in the process, Nature Broking, tells us more in this video.
Meanwhile here is our retirement certificate for the record – and as this was a learning process and attempt to do something positive it is not intended to make us look carbon neutral, net zero or anything else we shouldn’t be claiming until we have maximised reduction!
