👚 St Albans Clothes Swap
Swap don’t shop – refresh your wardrobe and cut down on waste
📍 Jubilee Square Pavilion, Victoria Street, AL1 3LT | 📅 Saturday 17 May 2025
🌍 Why We’re Running This Event
We love fashion—but not the waste that comes with it.
Every year in the UK:
350,000 tonnes of clothing that could be reused ends up in landfill
That’s about £140 million worth of clothes thrown away
Most of it is worn just 7 times or less before being discarded
Clothes swaps are a fun, affordable, and impactful way to do something about it. By swapping instead of buying new, you:
Keep clothes in circulation for longer
Save money while refreshing your wardrobe
Help reduce textile waste and the environmental harm it causes
Join a community movement towards more conscious fashion
👗 What’s a Clothes Swap?
It’s like shopping – but free, sustainable, and more fun.
Here’s how it works:
Bring up to 10 clean, good-quality items of clothing, bags, belts, or shoes
We’ll sort them and add them to the rails
Browse what others have brought and take home up to 10 items
That’s it! No tokens, no faff—just good clothes going to good homes
This is a drop-and-swap event—only those who bring items can participate.
